From the time he finished medical school at LSU, Dr. Sean Weiss has focused his academics and career solely on the face, head and neck.

SeanWeissMDFACS“I don’t do any breast or body work by intention, because I believe specialized focus is required to achieve the best surgical and non-surgical results for one’s face,” Dr. Weiss says. What started as a fascination with head and neck anatomy led to a passion for the complex reconstructive procedures of that area. Dr. Weiss now provides comprehensive care for women and men seeking plastic surgery of the face, head and neck at his office in Metairie.

Besides focus, another way he stands out from other practitioners is by taking the time to build longterm relationships with his patients. “I highly value the relationships that I develop with my patients, and I express this to everyone at their initial consultation” Dr. Weiss says. “The process of facial aging is continuous, and it changes with each decade as we get older. Having an ongoing relationship is incredibly important, so patients can achieve the best results and optimize their outcomes as the years go on.”

With a boutique feel and a manageable patient base, Dr. Weiss strives to give his patients the attention they deserve. “It’s best if patients are comfortable and relaxed as they evaluate their options for aesthetic enhancement,” he says.

Dr. Weiss’ services include facelift, neck lift, brow lift, eyelid surgery, hair restoration and non-surgical facial rejuvenation like fillers, laser and Botox. He also is an expert in the intricacies of rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction.

What I like most about my practice: “I have the most incredible patients, who trust me to be their provider for facial aesthetic enhancement,” Dr. Weiss says. “My relationship with each patient is unique and dear to me. In addition, my office staff is great.

Everyone on the team is incredibly motivated to help patients look and feel their best and provide the highest quality of care and service.”

About a cutting-edge procedure I’m performing: “As the first physician in the state to perform the ARTAS robotic hair restoration procedure, my practice is on the cutting edge of technology for men seeking to improve their confidence and appearance,” Dr. Weiss says. “Along with hair restoration, more and more men are seeking treatments such as Botox and facial fillers to maintain their competitive edge. Probably 20 percent of my patients are men, and I think over the next 10 years there’s going to be a steady increase in this number.”

One of my most rewarding cases: “There is a nice woman who developed a skin cancer on the very edge of her eyelid … more than half of her eyelid had to be removed,” Dr. Weiss says. “The challenging part was needing to transfer part of the upper eyelid down to the lower lid in a process that required three separate procedures. It was understandably an emotional process, but now you cannot tell she had any eyelid defect from what she had gone through.”

The best compliment I’ve ever been given: “The best compliment that I receive is the referral of a friend or family member from a satisfied patient,” Dr. Weiss says. “To me that is an expression of satisfaction and confidence in the work that I do. When a patient expresses gratitude stating, ‘I look 10 or 15 years younger, thank you!’ that’s very nice and certainly happens all the time, but to me the best sign of gratitude is when they are so pleased that they recommend my practice.”

I draw inspiration from: “My father, Dr. Bob Weiss, who practiced family medicine in Slidell and my brother Dr. Philip Weiss, an internist who has developed a dermatology-focused practice in St Bernard Parish, “ Dr. Weiss says. “Their successes inspire me to do a better job each day, and to provide excellent care. In addition, my wife, Dr. Alison Weiss — a veterinarian specialized in canine rehabilitation — inspires me to make a difference in the lives of others each day.”
