Developing Synergistic Care

Expanding their patient services on the Northshore, Paradigm Health System recently opened a 10,000-square-foot, cutting edge facility in Slidell.

Early this fall, Paradigm Health System celebrated the opening of its Slidell branch, thereby expanding its health care services campus adjacent to Sterling Surgical — a sister corporation that shares Paradigm’s commitment to patient services, convenience and comfort. The new facility houses additional clinic space for the organization’s physicians, administrative offices and conference room, and a still-in-progress physical therapy center.

The health care company tapped the highly reputable fl+WB Architects in Covington to manage the project. “They’ve built a lot of healthcare facilities and were an excellent company to work with,” says Kevin Schneider, president of Paradigm Health System. “We look forward to working with them again on future buildings and expansions.” According to Schneider, the new building is yet another step in Paradigm’s overall plans to develop the Slidell campus and to offer patients a more comprehensive level of care in one convenient location.

In its indefatigable effort to provide patients with a high-end, white-glove experience, the Slidell building was designed to offer an ambience that offers the semblance of a boutique hotel as opposed to the sometimes stuffy or sterile environment found in your average healthcare facility. “We take a lot of pride in the aesthetic environment of all our buildings,” Schneider says. “We wanted to ensure we constructed a first-class facility from the layout of our lobby to comfort-level and style of our furniture.” In keeping with that ideal, Paradigm Health System hired talented interior designer Monica Melancon of Melancon Ortega Designs. “It’s very tranquil — the colors, the furniture, the fabrics — all very much like a spa or boutique hotel environment,” Schneider says. “We wanted to make sure every little detail on the interior finishes fit the building and our culture and our goals, and I believe we accomplished that.”

With offices in Mandeville, Lacombe, New Orleans East, Metairie and Slidell, Paradigm Health System has grown expansively, offering care in the fields of neurology, orthopedics, podiatry, interventional pain medicine, spinal surgery radiology and more. Integral to the new facility, and to the Paradigm commitment as a whole, is its multi-specialty, collaborative approach to patient care. “The typical healthcare route is slow and cumbersome, and we created Paradigm Health System to be the antithesis of that,” Schneider says. “The major benefit of our organization is that our skilled group of specialists can work together rather than in a vacuum.” The obvious result of this collaborative approach to health care improves not only diagnostics and treatment, but a marked improvement in patient care and wellness.

The construction of the new facility on Paradigm’s Slidell campus only furthers the company’s specialized approach to patient-centered care with added comfort and convenience. With the new offices, patients requiring surgery can go straight from their physician to the pre-op at Sterling Surgical, negating lengthy scheduling setbacks common to the average healthcare scenario. “We feel privileged when patients choose Paradigm Health System for their care,” Schneider says. “And we feel obligated to offer them the best possible experience.” paradigmhealth.net
