Dining: Poke Loa
New Orleans has finally caught on to the poke craze, and, with that, we are seeing a bunch of new offerings in the area, including the third location of Poke Loa that opened at the end of January in the new South Market District on Girod Street. Great for businesspeople working in the downtown area, Pole Loa offers healthy and delicious bowls of raw fish, rice, greens and other toppings like tobiko, edamame, crab salad and other delights. Select one of the signature bowls, like the King Loa with salmon and tuna with cucumbers, chili paste, seaweed salad and avocado, or build your own bowl with a wide selection of proteins and toppings from yellowtail and octopus to ponzu sauce, wonton strips and macadamia nuts. Poke Loa is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. 939 Girod St., (504) 571-5174, eatpokeloa.com
