If football is not necessarily your cup of tea, consider your Sunday afternoon booked.

This Sunday, October 2nd, New Orleans Auction Galleries will be host to an impressive vintage couture and jewelry estate sale. Pieces of note come from the succession of business woman and long-time New Orleans resident Elizabeth Turnbull, a Denver, CO collector, and an unnamed New York fashion editor.

The collection was on exhibit at the Galleries this past week, and I attended a special evening reception on Thursday where I snapped shots of a few of my favorite pieces. (Additional photos are courtesy of New Orleans Auction Galleries, Inc.)

Yes, this is a photo of “a few” of my favorite pieces.  Some of the designers featured in the handbag collection alone are Chanel, Hermes, Whiting & Davis Co., Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier and Judith Lieber.

Pieces from designers Christian Lacroix, Roberto Cavalli, Ines de la Fressange and Burberry London will be on the auction block.

Of course, you will require some finishing touches for your new wardrobe. The jewelry available for bidding ranges from understated to absolutely stunning.
