The Council of French Societies of Greater New Orleans and the French Market Corporation celebrated La Fete Nationale Francaise with a parade, a wreath-laying ceremony at the Statue of Jeanne d’Arc and a “Let them Eat Cake” event in which “Marie Antoinette” served cake and champagne at the French Market. The ceremonies concluded at the New Orleans Museum of Art where Hon. M. Olivier Brochenin, consul general of France, presented the Medal of Honor to veterans of World War II. Viva la France!
