Conveniently located in Mid-City, the Woodhouse Day Spa is new to the New Orleans spa scene, but has quickly become a local favorite.beautyjune2013 Proprietor Stuart Rome said: “Our goal when we opened a year ago was to create a true day spa experience in a quiet atmosphere where guests can relax and not feel rushed. We built the facility with that in mind.”

In order to get that wedding glow, try the Woodhouse Classic Facial, tailored to fit the specific skincare needs of each client. And since it’s his big day too, Woodhouse also offers a Gentleman’s Hot Towel Facial, as well as a complete men’s skincare line. Spa packages are available for the bride-to-be and Woodhouse can easily accommodate bridal parties.

The Spa Classic package is the most popular and includes a Swedish Massage, Classic Facial and an Agave Nectar Pedicure—three hours of pure bliss. If you are looking for absolute rejuvenation and have seven hours to commit, then say “I do” to the Woodhouse Experience. This package has everything you need to look and feel your best on your wedding day. Your day starts with a Detox or Renewal Bath in the tranquil Tub Room, followed by a four-handed massage, the Signature Minkyti Facial, a spa cuisine lunch and finally, a manicure and pedicure.

Perfume
The Warehouse District is now home to the first Avery Fine Perfumery outpost on U.S. soil. Then interactive perfumery features the same “aviary” theme made famous by Avery’s stores in London and Modena, Italy, but Designer Lillian Driessen was careful to also pay homage to the city of New Orleans and its architectural history. The shop’s organic vibe is accentuated by original doors and locks salvaged from the flood. Stop in to find exclusive Avery brands like Andrea Maack, Agonist, Hype Noses and Acqua di Stresa, as well as Louisiana’s own brand, Mojo Magique.

Prep
One of the ultimate wedding nightmares is a cosmetic procedure gone wrong the right before your wedding day. Dr. Barbara Bopp, a leading New Orleans dermatologist, has created a sensible and no-fuss guide to looking your best on your wedding day:

Basic skincare should begin six to nine months prior to the wedding day and should include a gentle cleanser, antioxidant, growth factors, retinoid treatments, SPF and in some cases, a bleacher. It’s worth noting that not all brides require the same skincare routine; finding the one that fits you is the first step.

Laser hair reduction will have you honeymoon-ready in no time. Nine months before the wedding, laser treatments can be done in a series of five treatments administered at four-to-six-week intervals to remove unwanted hair in the underarms and bikini area for the bride, or on the chest, shoulders and back for the groom.

Issues like acne, redness and pigmentation should also be dealt with six to nine months prior to the wedding. Treatment of these areas of concern can include topical medications for acne as well as chemical peels or microdermabrasion.

Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane®, JUVÉDERM® and BELOTERO BALANCE® may be used for lip enhancement or for filling out folds around the mouth, and should be applied by a dermatologist three to six months prior to the wedding.

Crow’s feet and wrinkles on the forehead can be treated with neurotoxins such as BOTOX®, and should be administered six months before the wedding.

Product Spotlight: blinc Mascara
Add volume and length to your lashes in a blinc. Instead of painting your lashes like conventional mascaras, blinc mascara forms tiny, no-smudge tubes around your lashes. Once applied, these mascara tubes bind to your lashes and will not run or flake.
